6 "I gave you empty stomachs[a] in every city 6 and lack of bread in every town, 6 yet you have not returned to me," 6 declares the Lord.
7 "I also withheld rain from you 7 when the harvest was still three months away. 7 I sent rain on one town, 7 but withheld it from another. 7 One field had rain; 7 another had none and dried up.
8 People staggered from town to town for water 8 but did not get enough to drink, 8 yet you have not returned to me," 8 declares the Lord.
9 "Many times I struck your gardens and vineyards, 9 I struck them with blight and mildew. 9 Locusts devoured your fig and olive trees, 9 yet you have not returned to me," 9 declares the Lord.
10 "I sent plagues among you 10 as I did to Egypt. 10 I killed your young men with the sword, 10 along with your captured horses. 10 I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camps, 10 yet you have not returned to me," 10 declares the Lord.
11 "I overthrew some of you 11 as I[b] overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. 11 You were like a burning stick snatched from the fire, 11 yet you have not returned to me," 11 declares the Lord.
12 "Therefore this is what I will do to you, Israel, 12 and because I will do this to you, 12 prepare to meet your God, O Israel."
