For I will pour water on the thirsty land, 3 and streams on the dry ground; 3 I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, 3 and my blessing on your descendants.
They will spring up like grass in a meadow, 4 like poplar trees by flowing streams.
One will say, 'I belong to the Lord'; 5 another will call himself by the name of Jacob; 5 still another will write on his hand, 'The Lord's,' 5 and will take the name Israel.

The Lord, Not Idols
"This is what the Lord says— 6 Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: 6 I am the first and I am the last; 6 apart from me there is no God.
Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it. 7 Let him declare and lay out before me 7 what has happened since I established my ancient people, 7 and what is yet to come— 7 yes, let him foretell what will come.
Do not tremble, do not be afraid. 8 Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? 8 You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? 8 No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."
