12 The blacksmith takes a tool 12 and works with it in the coals; 12 he shapes an idol with hammers, 12 he forges it with the might of his arm. 12 He gets hungry and loses his strength; 12 he drinks no water and grows faint.
13 The carpenter measures with a line 13 and makes an outline with a marker; 13 he roughs it out with chisels 13 and marks it with compasses. 13 He shapes it in the form of man, 13 of man in all his glory, 13 that it may dwell in a shrine.
15 It is man's fuel for burning; 15 some of it he takes and warms himself, 15 he kindles a fire and bakes bread. 15 But he also fashions a god and worships it; 15 he makes an idol and bows down to it.
19 No one stops to think, 19 no one has the knowledge or understanding to say, 19 "Half of it I used for fuel; 19 I even baked bread over its coals, 19 I roasted meat and I ate. 19 Shall I make a detestable thing from what is left? 19 Shall I bow down to a block of wood?"
