Translation:

Micah 6

8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. 8 And what does the Lord require of you? 8 To act justly and to love mercy 8 and to walk humbly with your God.

8 9

9 Israel's Guilt and Punishment

9 Listen! The Lord is calling to the city— 9 and to fear your name is wisdom— 9 "Heed the rod and the One who appointed it.[a]

10 Am I still to forget, O wicked house, 10 your ill-gotten treasures 10 and the short ephah,[b] which is accursed?

11 Shall I acquit a man with dishonest scales, 11 with a bag of false weights?

12 Her rich men are violent; 12 her people are liars 12 and their tongues speak deceitfully.

13 Therefore, I have begun to destroy you, 13 to ruin you because of your sins.

14 You will eat but not be satisfied; 14 your stomach will still be empty.[c] 14 You will store up but save nothing, 14 because what you save I will give to the sword.

15 You will plant but not harvest; 15 you will press olives but not use the oil on yourselves, 15 you will crush grapes but not drink the wine.

16 You have observed the statutes of Omri 16 and all the practices of Ahab's house, 16 and you have followed their traditions. 16 Therefore I will give you over to ruin 16 and your people to derision; 16 you will bear the scorn of the nations.[d] "

Micah 7

1 Israel's Misery

1 What misery is mine! 1 I am like one who gathers summer fruit 1 at the gleaning of the vineyard; 1 there is no cluster of grapes to eat, 1 none of the early figs that I crave.
