Psalms 119

[a]

1

+B Aleph

Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, 1 who walk according to the law of the Lord.

Blessed are they who keep his statutes 2 and seek him with all their heart.

They do nothing wrong; 3 they walk in his ways.

You have laid down precepts 4 that are to be fully obeyed.

Oh, that my ways were steadfast 5 in obeying your decrees!

Then I would not be put to shame 6 when I consider all your commands.

I will praise you with an upright heart 7 as I learn your righteous laws.

I will obey your decrees; 8 do not utterly forsake me.

+C Beth

How can a young man keep his way pure? 9 By living according to your word.

I seek you with all my heart; 10 do not let me stray from your commands.

I have hidden your word in my heart 11 that I might not sin against you.

Praise be to you, O Lord; 12 teach me your decrees.

With my lips I recount 13 all the laws that come from your mouth.

I rejoice in following your statutes 14 as one rejoices in great riches.

I meditate on your precepts 15 and consider your ways.

I delight in your decrees; 16 I will not neglect your word.
