1 Unless the Lord builds the house, 1 its builders labor in vain. 1 Unless the Lord watches over the city, 1 the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2 In vain you rise early 2 and stay up late, 2 toiling for food to eat— 2 for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves.
