1 1 For the director of music. A psalm of David.
The heavens declare the glory of God; 1 the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; 2 night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language 3 where their voice is not heard.[a]
Their voice[b] goes out into all the earth, 4 their words to the ends of the world. 4 In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, 5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, 5 like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens 6 and makes its circuit to the other; 6 nothing is hidden from its heat.
The law of the Lord is perfect, 7 reviving the soul. 7 The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, 7 making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, 8 giving joy to the heart. 8 The commands of the Lord are radiant, 8 giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure, 9 enduring forever. 9 The ordinances of the Lord are sure 9 and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, 10 than much pure gold; 10 they are sweeter than honey, 10 than honey from the comb.
By them is your servant warned; 11 in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can discern his errors? 12 Forgive my hidden faults.
Keep your servant also from willful sins; 13 may they not rule over me. 13 Then will I be blameless, 13 innocent of great transgression.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart 14 be pleasing in your sight, 14 O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
