Psalms 62

1 1 For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David. 1 +062:1-12 is numbered 62:2-13 in Hebrew texts.+1

Truly my soul finds rest in God; 1 my salvation comes from him.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation; 2 he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

How long will you assault me? 3 Would all of you throw me down— 3 this leaning wall, this tottering fence?

Surely they intend to topple me 4 from my lofty place; 4 they take delight in lies. 4 With their mouths they bless, 4 but in their hearts they curse.[a]

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; 5 my hope comes from him.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation; 6 he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God[b]; 7 he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Trust in him at all times, you people; 8 pour out your hearts to him, 8 for God is our refuge.

Surely the lowborn are but a breath, 9 the highborn are but a lie. 9 If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; 9 together they are only a breath.

Do not trust in extortion 10 or put vain hope in stolen goods; 10 though your riches increase, 10 do not set your heart on them.

One thing God has spoken, 11 two things I have heard: 11 "Power belongs to you, God, 12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love"; 12 and, "You reward everyone 12 according to what they have done."
