Translation:

Ephesians 6

Children, Col. 3:20obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Ex. 20:12Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

And, Col. 3:21ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but Gen. 18:19bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

1 Tim. 6:1Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, 2 Cor. 7:15;Phil. 2:12with fear and trembling, 1 Chr. 29:17;Col. 3:22in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Col. 3:22Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

Rom. 2:6;Col. 3:24Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, Gal. 3:28whether he be bond or free.

And, ye Col. 4:1masters, do the same things unto them, [a]forbearing threatening: knowing that [b]your Master also is in heaven; Rom. 2:11neither is there respect of persons with him.

The whole armour of God

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

2 Cor. 6:7Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against [c]flesh and blood, but against Rom. 8:38principalities, against powers, against Luke 22:53the rulers of the darkness of this world, against [d]spiritual wickedness in [e]high places.

2 Cor. 10:4Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand ch. 5:16in the evil day, and [f]having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, Is. 11:5;1 Pet. 1:13having your loins girt about with truth, and Is. 59:17having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Is. 52:7And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking 1 John 5:4the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And 1 Thes. 5:8take the helmet of salvation, and Heb. 4:12the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Luke 18:1Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and Mat. 26:41watching thereunto with all perseverance and Phil. 1:4supplication for all saints;

Acts 4:29And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth 2 Cor. 3:12boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

For which 2 Cor. 5:20I am an ambassador [g]in bonds: that [h]therein Phil. 1:20I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Concluding benediction

But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Acts 20:4Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

Col. 4:8Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

1 Pet. 5:14Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ [i]in sincerity. Amen.

Written from Rome unto the Ephesians by Tychicus.
