Jude 1

Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and Acts 1:13brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and John 17:11;1 Pet. 1:5preserved in Jesus Christ, and Rom. 1:7called:

Mercy unto you, and 1 Pet. 1:2;2 Pet. 1:2peace, and love, be multiplied.

The doom of false teachers

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you Tit. 1:4of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that Phil. 1:27;2 Tim. 1:13ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Gal. 2:4;2 Pet. 2:1For there are certain men crept in unawares, Rom. 9:22who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, 2 Pet. 2:10turning Tit. 2:11the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and Tit. 1:16denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that 1 Cor. 10:9the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward Num. 14:29;Ps. 106:26destroyed them that believed not.

And John 8:44the angels which kept not their [a]first estate, but left their own habitation, 2 Pet. 2:4he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness Rev. 20:10unto the judgment of the great day.

Even as Gen. 19:24;2 Pet. 2:6Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them, in like manner giving themselves over to fornication, and going after [b]strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

2 Pet. 2:10Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and Ex. 22:28speak evil of dignities.

Yet Dan. 10:13Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, 2 Pet. 2:11durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, Zech. 3:2The Lord rebuke thee.

2 Pet. 2:12But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way 1 John 3:12of Cain, and 2 Pet. 2:15ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished Num. 16:1in the gainsaying of Core.

2 Pet. 2:13These are spots in your 1 Cor. 11:21feasts of charity when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: Prov. 25:14;2 Pet. 2:17clouds they are without water, Eph. 4:14carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, Mat. 15:13plucked up by the roots;

Is. 57:20Raging waves of the sea, Phil. 3:19foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, 2 Pet. 2:17to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

And Enoch also, Gen. 5:18the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, Deut. 33:2the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their 1 Sam. 2:3;Ps. 31:18hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Hold to the true faith

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and 2 Pet. 2:18their mouth speaketh great swelling words, Prov. 28:21having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

2 Pet. 3:2But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

How that they told you 1 Tim. 4:1;2 Pet. 2:1there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

These be they Prov. 18:1who separate themselves, Jas. 3:15sensual, having not the Spirit.

But ye, beloved, Col. 2:7building up yourselves on your most holy faith, Rom. 8:26praying in the Holy Ghost,

Keep yourselves in the love of God, Tit. 2:13;2 Pet. 3:12looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

And of some have compassion, making a difference:

And others Rom. 11:14save with fear, Amos 4:11;Zech. 3:2pulling them out of the fire; hating even Zech. 3:4,5the garment spotted by the flesh.

Benediction

Eph. 3:20Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and Col. 1:22to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Rom. 16:27To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
