Proverbs 19

Better ch. 28:6is the poor that walketh in his integrity, 1 Than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; 2 And he that hasteth with his feet, sinneth.

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: 3 Ps. 37:7And his heart fretteth against the Lord.

ch. 14:20Wealth maketh many friends; 4 But the poor is separated from his neighbour.

Ex. 23:1A false witness shall not be [a]unpunished, 5 And he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

ch. 29:26Many will intreat the favour of the prince: 6 And ch. 17:8every man is a friend to [b]him that giveth gifts.

ch. 14:20All the brethren of the poor do hate him: 7 How much more do his friends go Ps. 38:11far from him! 7 He pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

He that getteth [c]wisdom loveth his own soul: 8 He that keepeth understanding ch. 16:20shall find good.

ver. 5A false witness shall not be unpunished, 9 And he that speaketh lies shall perish.

Delight is not seemly for a fool; 10 Much less ch. 30:22for a servant to have rule over princes.

Jas. 1:19The [d]discretion of a man deferreth his anger; 11 ch. 16:32And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

ch. 16:14The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; 12 But his favour is Hos. 14:5as dew upon the grass.

ch. 10:1A foolish son is the calamity of his father: 13 ch. 21:9,19And the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

2 Cor. 12:14House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: 14 And ch. 18:22a prudent wife is from the Lord.

ch. 6:9Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; 15 And an idle soul shall ch. 10:4suffer hunger.

Luke 10:28He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; 16 But he that despiseth his ways shall die.

2 Cor. 9:6He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; 17 And [e]that which he hath given will he pay him again.

ch. 13:24Chasten thy son while there is hope, 18 And let not thy soul spare [f]for his crying.

A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: 19 For if thou deliver him, yet thou must [g]do it again.

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, 20 That thou mayest be wise Ps. 37:37in thy latter end.

There are many devices in a man's heart; 21 Heb. 6:17Nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

The desire of a man is his kindness: 22 And a poor man is better than a liar.

1 Tim. 4:8The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: 23 And he that hath it shall abide satisfied; 23 He shall not be visited with evil.

ch. 15:19A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, 24 And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

Smite a scorner, and the simple Deut. 13:11[h]will beware: 25 And ch. 9:8reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, 26 Is ch. 17:2a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

Cease, my son, to hear the instruction 27 That causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

[i]An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: 28 And Job 15:16the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

Judgments are prepared for scorners, 29 ch. 26:3And stripes for the back of fools.
