1 The benefits of the Lord
1 A Psalm of David.
1 Bless Ps. 104:1the Lord, O my soul: 1 And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, 2 And forget not all his benefits:
3 Ps. 130:8;Is. 33:24Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; 3 Who Ex. 15:26healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; 4 Ps. 5:12Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; 5 So that Is. 40:31thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The Lord executeth righteousness 6 And judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 Ps. 147:19He made known his ways unto Moses, 7 His acts unto the children of Israel.
8 Ex. 34:6,7The Lord is merciful and gracious, 8 Slow to anger, and [a]plenteous in mercy.
9 Ps. 30:5He will not always chide: 9 Neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 Ezra 9:13He hath not dealt with us after our sins; 10 Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For [b]as the heaven is high above the earth, 11 So great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, 12 So far hath he Is. 43:25removed our transgressions from us.
13 Mal. 3:17Like as a father pitieth his children, 13 So the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; 14 He remembereth that we are Eccl. 12:7dust.
15 As for man, 1 Pet. 1:24his days are as grass: 15 Job 14:1,2As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and [c]it is gone; 16 And Job 7:10the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, 17 And his righteousness unto children's children;
18 Deut. 7:9To such as keep his covenant, 18 And to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; 19 And Ps. 47:2;Dan. 4:25his kingdom ruleth over all.
20 Ps. 148:2Bless the Lord, ye his angels, 20 [d]That excel in strength, that Mat. 6:10do his commandments, 20 Hearkening unto the voice of his word.
