Psalms 120

A prayer for deliverance

A Song of degrees.

In Jonah 2:2my distress I cried unto the Lord, 1 And he heard me.

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, 2 And from a deceitful tongue.

[a]What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be [b]done unto thee, 3 Thou false tongue?

[c]Sharp arrows of the mighty, 4 With coals of juniper.

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Gen. 10:2;Ezek. 27:13Mesech, 5 Gen. 25:13;1 Sam. 25:1;Jer. 49:28That I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

My soul hath long dwelt 6 With him that hateth peace.

I am [d]for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

Help from the Lord
