Lord, remember David, 1 And all his afflictions:
How he sware unto the Lord, 2 Ps. 65:1And vowed unto Gen. 49:24the mighty God of Jacob;
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, 3 Nor go up into my bed;
I will Prov. 6:4not give sleep to mine eyes, 4 Or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I Acts 7:46find out a place for the Lord, 5 [a]A habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
Lo, we heard of it 1 Sam. 17:12at Ephratah: 6 1 Sam. 7:1We found it 1 Chr. 13:5in the fields of the wood.
We will go into his tabernacles: 7 Ps. 5:7;& 99:5We will worship at his footstool.
Num. 10:35;2 Chr. 6:41Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; 8 Thou, and Ps. 78:61the ark of thy strength.
Let thy priests Job 29:14;Is. 61:10be clothed with righteousness; 9 And let thy saints shout for joy.
For thy servant David's sake 10 Turn not away the face of thine anointed.
Ps. 89:3,4The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; 11 He will not turn from it; 11 2 Sam. 7:12;1 Ki. 8:25Of the fruit of [b]thy body will I set upon thy throne.
If thy children will keep my covenant 12 And my testimony that I shall teach them, 12 Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.
Ps. 48:1,2For the Lord hath chosen Zion; 13 He hath desired it for his habitation.
Ps. 68:16This is my rest for ever: 14 Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
Ps. 147:14I will [c]abundantly bless her provision: 15 I will satisfy her poor with bread.
2 Chr. 6:41I will also clothe her priests with salvation: 16 Hos. 11:12And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
Ezek. 29:21;Luke 1:69There will I make the horn of David to bud: 17 1 Ki. 11:36I have ordained a [d]lamp for mine anointed.
His enemies will I Ps. 35:26;& 109:29clothe with shame: 18 But upon himself shall his crown flourish.
