1 Prayer for guidance and protection
1 A Psalm of David.
1 Unto Ps. 86:4thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I Ps. 34:8;Is. 28:16trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, 2 Ps. 13:4Let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: 3 Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Ex. 33:13;Ps. 5:8Shew me thy ways, O Lord; 4 Teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: 5 For thou art the God of my salvation; 5 On thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, Ps. 103:17;Is. 63:15[a]thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; 6 For they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not Job 13:26;Jer. 3:25the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: 7 Ps. 51:1According to thy mercy remember thou me 7 For thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: 8 Therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: 9 And the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth 10 Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
