1 Confidence facing the enemy

1 A Psalm of David, 2 Sam. 15-18when he fled from Absalom his son.

1 Lord, 2 Sam. 15:12how are they increased that trouble me! 1 Many are they that rise up against me.

2 Many there be which say of my soul, 2 Ps. 71:11There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3 But thou, O Lord, art Ps. 28:7a shield [a]for me; 3 My glory, and Ps. 27:6the lifter up of mine head.

4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, 4 And Ps. 34:4he heard me out of his Ps. 2:6holy hill. Selah.

5 Lev. 26:6;Prov. 3:24I laid me down and slept; 5 I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

6 Ps. 27:3I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, 6 That have set themselves against me round about.

7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: 7 Job 16:10;Lam. 3:30For thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; 7 Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8 Is. 43:11Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: 8 Thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
