Psalms 37

Blessings to the righteous

A Psalm of David.

Fret Ps. 73:3;Prov. 23:17not thyself because of evildoers, 1 Neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

For they shall soon be cut down Ps. 90:5,6like the grass, 2 And wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; 3 So shalt thou dwell in the land, and [a]verily thou shalt be fed.

Is. 58:14Delight thyself also in the Lord; 4 And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Ps. 55:22;Mat. 6:25[b]Commit thy way unto the Lord; 5 Trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Job 11:17And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, 6 And thy judgment as the noonday.

[c]Rest in the Lord, Lam. 3:26and wait patiently for him: 7 Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, 7 Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: 8 Ps. 73:3;Eph. 4:26Fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

For evildoers shall be cut off: 9 But those that wait upon the Lord, they shall Is. 57:13inherit the earth.

For Heb. 10:36yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: 10 Yea, Job 7:10thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

Mat. 5:5But the meek shall inherit the earth; 11 And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

The wicked [d]plotteth against the just, 12 Ps. 35:16And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

Ps. 2:4The Lord shall laugh at him: 13 For he seeth that 1 Sam. 26:10his day is coming.

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, 14 To cast down the poor and needy, 14 And to slay [e]such as be of upright conversation.

Ps. 9:16Their sword shall enter into their own heart, 15 And their bows shall be broken.

Prov. 15:16A little that a righteous man hath 16 Is better than the riches of many wicked.

For Ps. 10:15the arms of the wicked shall be broken: 17 But the Lord upholdeth the righteous.

The Lord Ps. 1:6knoweth the days of the upright: 18 And their inheritance shall be Is. 60:21for ever.

They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: 19 And Ps. 33:19in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

But the wicked shall perish, 20 And the enemies of the Lord shall be as [f]the fat of lambs: 20 They shall consume; Ps. 102:3into smoke shall they consume away.

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: 21 But Ps. 112:5,9the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

Prov. 3:33For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; 22 And they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

1 Sam. 2:9The steps of a good man are [g]ordered by the Lord: 23 And he delighteth in his way.

Prov. 24:16Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: 24 For the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

I have been young, and now am old; 25 Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, 25 Nor his seed Job 15:23begging bread.

Deut. 15:8He is [h]ever merciful, and lendeth; 26 And his seed is blessed.

Ps. 34:14Depart from evil, and do good; 27 And dwell for evermore.

For the Lord Is. 30:18loveth judgment, 28 And forsaketh not his saints; 28 They are preserved for ever: 28 Ps. 21:10But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Prov. 2:21The righteous shall inherit the land, 29 And dwell therein for ever.

Mat. 12:35The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, 30 And his tongue talketh of judgment.

Deut. 6:6The law of his God is in his heart; 31 None of his [i]steps shall slide.

The wicked Ps. 10:8watcheth the righteous, 32 And seeketh to slay him.

The Lord 2 Pet. 2:9will not leave him in his hand, 33 Nor Ps. 109:31condemn him when he is judged.

Ps. 27:14Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, 34 And he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: 34 Ps. 52:5,6When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

Job 5:3I have seen the wicked in great power, 35 And spreading himself like [j]a green bay tree.

Yet he Job 20:5passed away, and lo, he was not: 36 Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: 37 For Is. 32:17the end of that man is peace.

Ps. 1:4But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: 38 The end of the wicked shall be cut off.

But Ps. 3:8the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: 39 He is their strength Ps. 9:9in the time of trouble.

And Is. 31:5the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: 40 He shall deliver them from the wicked, 40 And save them, 1 Chr. 5:20because they trust in him.

The burden of suffering
