¹ A prayer for deliverance

¹ To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, 1 Sam. 23:19when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?

¹ Save me, O God, by thy name, ¹ And judge me by thy strength.

² Hear my prayer, O God; ² Give ear to the words of my mouth.

³ For Ps. 86:14strangers are risen up against me, ³ And oppressors seek after my soul: ³ They have not set God before them. Selah.

⁴ Behold, God is mine helper: ⁴ Ps. 118:7The Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

⁵ He shall reward evil unto ^[a]mine enemies: ⁵ Cut them off Ps. 89:49in thy truth.

⁶ I will freely sacrifice unto thee: ⁶ I will praise thy name, O Lord; Ps. 52:9for it is good.

⁷ For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: ⁷ Ps. 59:10And mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

⁸ The Lord will sustain
