Psalms 62

Confidence in God

To the chief Musician, to 1 Chr. 25:1Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.

[a]Truly Ps. 33:20my soul [b]waiteth upon God: 1 From him cometh my salvation.

He only is my rock and my salvation; 2 He is my Ps. 59:9,17[c]defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? 3 Ye shall be slain all of you: 3 Is. 30:13As a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: 4 They delight in lies: 4 Ps. 28:3They bless with their mouth, but they curse [d]inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; 5 For my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: 6 He is my defence; I shall not be moved.

Jer. 3:23In God is my salvation and my glory: 7 The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, 8 1 Sam. 1:15;Lam. 2:19Pour out your heart before him: 8 God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Ps. 39:5;Is. 40:17Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: 9 To be laid in the balance, they are [e]altogether lighter than vanity.

Trust not in oppression, 10 And become not vain in robbery: 10 Luke 12:15If riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

God hath spoken Job 33:14once; 11 Twice have I heard this; 11 That [f]power belongeth unto God.

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: 12 For Mat. 16:27thou renderest to every man according to his work.

The thirsty soul
