Psalms 66

God's power and works

To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm.

Ps. 100:1Make a joyful noise unto God, [a]all ye lands:

Sing forth the honour of his name: 2 Make his praise glorious.

Say unto God, How Ps. 65:5terrible art thou in thy works! 3 Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies Ps. 18:44[b]submit themselves unto thee.

Ps. 117:1All the earth shall worship thee, 4 And shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

Come and see the works of God: 5 He is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.

Ex. 14:21He turned the sea into dry land: 6 They went through the flood on foot: 6 There did we rejoice in him.

He ruleth by his power for ever; 7 His eyes behold the nations: 7 Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

O bless our God, ye people, 8 And make the voice of his praise to be heard:

Which [c]holdeth our soul in life, 9 And suffereth not our feet to be moved.

For Ps. 17:3;Is. 48:10thou, O God, hast proved us: 10 Zech. 13:9;1 Pet. 1:7Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

Lam. 1:13Thou broughtest us into the net; 11 Thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

Is. 51:23Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; 12 Is. 43:2We went through fire and through water: 12 But thou broughtest us out into a [d]wealthy place.

I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: 13 Eccl. 5:4I will pay thee my vows,

Which my lips have [e]uttered, 14 And my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of [f]fatlings, 15 With the incense of rams; 15 I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

Come and hear, all ye that fear God, 16 And I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

I cried unto him with my mouth, 17 And he was extolled with my tongue.

Is. 1:15;John 9:31;Jas. 4:3If I regard iniquity in my heart, 18 The Lord will not hear me:

But verily God Ps. 116:1,2hath heard me; 19 He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, 20 Nor his mercy from me.

God governs the nations
