Psalms 9

Praise to God for deliverance

To the chief Musician upon Muth-labben, A Psalm of David.

I will praise thee,Lord, with my whole heart; 1 I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and Ps. 5:11rejoice in thee: 2 I will sing praise to thy name, Ps. 83:18O thou most High.

When mine enemies are turned back, 3 They shall fall and perish at thy presence.

For [a]thou hast maintained my right and my cause; 4 Thou satest in the throne judging [b]right.

Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, 5 Thou hast Prov. 10:7put out their name for ever and ever.

[c]O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: 6 And thou hast destroyed cities; 6 Their memorial is perished with them.

Heb. 1:11But the Lord shall endure for ever: 7 He hath prepared his throne for judgment.

And Ps. 96:13he shall judge the world in righteousness, 8 He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

Ps. 32:7The Lord also will be [d]a refuge for the oppressed, 9 [e]A refuge in times of trouble.

And they that Ps. 91:14know thy name will put their trust in thee: 10 For thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: 11 Ps. 107:22Declare among the people his doings.

Gen. 9:5When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: 12 He forgetteth not the cry of the [f]humble.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; 13 Consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, 13 Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

That I may shew forth all thy praise 14 In the gates of the daughter of Zion: 14 I will Ps. 13:5rejoice in thy salvation.

Ps. 7:15,16The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: 15 In the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

The Lord is Ex. 7:5known by the judgment which he executeth: 16 The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. 16 Ps. 92:3[g]Higgaion. Selah.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, 17 And all the nations Job 8:13that forget God.

Ps. 12:5For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: 18 Prov. 23:18The expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: 19 Let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

Put them in fear, O Lord: 20 That the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
