An appeal for God to avenge
O Lord [a]God, Nah. 1:2to whom vengeance belongeth; 1 O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, [b]shew thyself.
Ps. 7:6Lift up thyself, thou Gen. 18:25judge of the earth: 2 Render a reward to the proud.
Lord, Job 20:5how long shall the wicked, 3 How long shall the wicked triumph?
How long shall they Ps. 31:18;Jude 15utter and speak hard things? 4 And all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, 5 And afflict thine heritage.
They slay the widow and the stranger, 6 And murder the fatherless.
Ps. 10:11Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, 7 Neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
Ps. 73:22;& 92:6Understand, ye brutish among the people: 8 And ye fools, when will ye be wise?
Ex. 4:11He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? 9 He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? 10 He that Job 35:11;Is. 28:26teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
1 Cor. 3:20The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, 11 That they are vanity.
Job 5:17;Heb. 12:5Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, 12 And teachest him out of thy law;
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, 13 Until the pit be digged for the wicked.
1 Sam. 12:22;Rom. 11:1For the Lord will not cast off his people, 14 Neither will he forsake his inheritance.
But judgment shall return unto righteousness: 15 And all the upright in heart [c]shall follow it.
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? 16 Or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Ps. 124:1,2Unless the Lord had been my help, 17 My soul had [d]almost dwelt in silence.
When I said, Ps. 38:16My foot slippeth; 18 Thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me 19 Thy comforts delight my soul.
Shall Amos 6:3the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, 20 Which Is. 10:1frameth mischief by a law?
Mat. 27:1They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, 21 And Prov. 17:15condemn the innocent blood.
But the Lord is Ps. 59:9my defence; 22 And my God is the rock of my refuge.
And Ps. 7:16;Prov. 2:22he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, 23 And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; 23 Yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.
A call to praise the Lord
