Christian doctrine and conduct
But speak thou the things which become 1 Tim. 1:10sound doctrine:
That the aged men be [a]sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh [b]holiness, not [c]false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be [d]sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, 1 Cor. 14:34obedient to their own husbands, Rom. 2:24that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Young men likewise exhort to be [e]sober minded.
1 Tim. 4:12In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, Eph. 6:24sincerity,
1 Tim. 6:3Sound speech that cannot be condemned; Neh. 5:9that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Exhort Eph. 6:5servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well Eph. 5:24in all things; not [f]answering again;
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; Mat. 5:16that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
For Rom. 5:15the grace of God [g]that bringeth salvation Luke 3:6hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us Luke 1:75that denying ungodliness 1 Pet. 4:2and worldly lusts we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
1 Cor. 1:7Looking for that blessed Acts 24:15hope, and the glorious Col. 3:4appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Gal. 1:4Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, Heb. 9:14and purify unto himself Ex. 15:16a peculiar people, Eph. 2:10zealous of good works.
These things speak, and 2 Tim. 4:2exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
