1 Joshua cleansed and reclothed
1 And he shewed me Hag. 1:1Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Ps. 109:6[a]Satan standing at his right hand [b]to resist him.
2 And the Lord said unto Satan, 2 Jude 9The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; 2 Even the Lord that Rom. 8:33hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: 2 Amos 4:11;Rom. 11:5Is not this a brand pluckt out of the fire?
3 Now Joshua was clothed with Is. 64:6filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, Is. 61:10;Luke 15:22and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
5 And I said, Let them set a fair Ex. 29:6mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.
6 And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying,
7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; 7 If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt Lev. 8:35;Ezek. 44:16keep my [c]charge, 7 Then thou shalt also Deut. 17:9judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, 7 And I will give thee [d]places to walk among these that ch. 4:14stand by.
8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, 8 And thy fellows that sit before thee: 8 For they are Ps. 71:7;Is. 8:18[e]men wondered at: 8 For behold, I will bring forth Is. 42:1;Ezek. 34:23my servant the Is. 11:1;ch. 6:12BRANCH.
9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; 9 Ps. 118:22;Is. 28:16Upon one stone shall be Rev. 5:6seven eyes: 9 Behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, 9 And Jer. 31:34;Mic. 7:18I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
10 ch. 2:11In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, 10 Shall ye call every man his neighbour, 10 Is. 36:16;Mic. 4:4Under the vine and under the fig tree.
