1 Wake up! Zion, wake up! 1 Dress yourself with strength as if it were your clothes. 1 Holy city of Jerusalem, 1 put on your clothes of glory. 1 Those who haven't been circumcised will never enter you again. 1 Neither will those who are "unclean."
5 "Now look at what has happened to them," announces the Lord. 5 "Once again my people have been taken away. 5 And no one paid anything for them. 5 Those who rule over them brag about it," 5 announces the Lord. 5 "All day long without stopping, 5 people speak evil things against my name.
6 So the day will come when my people will really know the meaning of my name. 6 They will know what kind of God I am. 6 They will know that I told them ahead of time they would return to their land. 6 They will know that it was I."
7 What a beautiful sight it is 7 to see messengers coming with good news! 7 How beautiful to see them coming down from the mountains 7 with a message about peace! 7 How wonderful it is when they bring the good news 7 that we are saved! 7 How wonderful when they say to Zion, 7 "Your God rules!"
