Psalms 62

1 1 For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

My soul finds rest in God alone; 1 my salvation comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation; 2 he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

How long will you assault a man? 3 Would all of you throw him down— 3 this leaning wall, this tottering fence?

They fully intend to topple him 4 from his lofty place; 4 they take delight in lies. 4 With their mouths they bless, 4 but in their hearts they curse.Selah

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; 5 my hope comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation; 6 he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God[a]; 7 he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Trust in him at all times, O people; 8 pour out your hearts to him, 8 for God is our refuge.Selah

Lowborn men are but a breath, 9 the highborn are but a lie; 9 if weighed on a balance, they are nothing; 9 together they are only a breath.

Do not trust in extortion 10 or take pride in stolen goods; 10 though your riches increase, 10 do not set your heart on them.

One thing God has spoken, 11 two things have I heard: 11 that you, O God, are strong, 12 and that you, O Lord, are loving. 12 Surely you will reward each person 12 according to what he has done.
