Translation:

Psalms 146

Praise the Lord.[a] 1 Praise the Lord, O my soul. 2 I will praise the Lord all my life; 2 I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Do not put your trust in princes, 3 in mortal men, who cannot save.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; 4 on that very day their plans come to nothing.

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, 5 whose hope is in the Lord his God,

the Maker of heaven and earth, 6 the sea, and everything in them— 6 the Lord, who remains faithful forever.

He upholds the cause of the oppressed 7 and gives food to the hungry. 7 The Lord sets prisoners free, 8 the Lord gives sight to the blind, 8 the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, 8 the Lord loves the righteous.

The Lord watches over the alien 9 and sustains the fatherless and the widow, 9 but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord reigns forever, 10 your God, O Zion, for all generations. 10 Praise the Lord.
