Psalms 47

1 1 For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. 1 +047:1-9 is numbered 47:2-10 in Hebrew texts.+1

Clap your hands, all you nations; 1 shout to God with cries of joy.

For the Lord Most High is awesome, 2 the great King over all the earth.

He subdued nations under us, 3 peoples under our feet.

He chose our inheritance for us, 4 the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.[a]

God has ascended amid shouts of joy, 5 the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.

Sing praises to God, sing praises; 6 sing praises to our King, sing praises.

For God is the King of all the earth; 7 sing to him a psalm of praise.

God reigns over the nations; 8 God is seated on his holy throne.

The nobles of the nations assemble 9 as the people of the God of Abraham, 9 for the kings[b] of the earth belong to God; 9 he is greatly exalted.
