Psalms 43

[a]

Vindicate me, my God, 1 and plead my cause35:1 1 against an unfaithful nation. 1 Rescue me from those who are 1 deceitful and wicked.

You are God my stronghold. 2 Why have you rejected me? 2 Why must I go about mourning, 2 oppressed by the enemy?

Send me your light and your faithful care, 3 let them lead me; 3 let them bring me to your holy mountain, 3 to the place where you dwell.

Then I will go to the altar of God, 4 to God, my joy and my delight. 4 I will praise you with the lyre, 4 O God, my God.

Why, my soul, are you downcast? 5 Why so disturbed within me? 5 Put your hope in God, 5 for I will yet praise him, 5 my Savior and my God.
