Sermon: Voting
The scriptures says that we should "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteous and all these things shall be added unto you". When I read this it lets me know that the Lord provides for us. However when we look at the plight of our country how can we say that people don''t think about the economic condition of our nation.
I don''t know anyone who are in their right mind who doesn''t want food, water, shelter and clothing. These things are necessary. Whenever an inividual runs for office they always say they are going to turn the economy around. It doesn''t matter whether they profess to be a believer or a non-believer, they still promise to help the ecomony get better. Since I''ve been voting this has been the discussion.
The problem I have with the people who are voting is that they make the person who they vote for their savior and forget about the Savior. Our trust should be totally in the Lord. I agree that the believer is required to pray. Our responsibility is to cover our leaders with prayer and stand in the gap for them, then we should trust the Father. I vote for Jesus!
