Comment to those looking at my sermons: If you are thinking of using one of my sermons: "Break glass only in case of emergency"
One of my favorite illustrations: The church is supposed to be united. If a church is founded upon the shared experience of people the church cannot be united. For instance, an all-teacher church is not a united church because there is only one segment of the church present in the body (teachers); an all-evangelist church is not united, it is segregated because only one segment of the kingdom is present; an all white, or an all black, or an all latino, or an all asian church located in a multi-ethnic community is not united it is segregated. Unity is not to be mistaken for comfort.

What my parents think of my sermons: Pretty typical parent response.
What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is encouraging.
Best advice given to me about preaching: Spend the time preparing. Make your preaching preparation a priority.
Books that have had an impact: "Ministry Nuts and Bolts : What They Don’t Teach Pastors in Seminary" by Albrey Mulphurs
"How to Lead a Great Cell Group Meeting. . . : So People Want to Come Back" by Joel Comiskey (great book for introducing church members to Cell concept).
"Spiritual Leadership : Principles of Excellence for Every Believer" by J. Oswald Sanders
