About Michael
  • Education: Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree and is currently writing his thesis for his Masters.
  • Experience: Mike has served a total of 25 years in the full-time ministry. Areas include Worship Leader, Youth Pastor, Outreach Pastor, Associate Pastor, Evangelist, Christian School Administrator and Senior Pastor.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Nothing is original except the thoughts that are divinely inspired. I have had the priviledge of hearing a lot of great preachers and they have all influenced my style. I love to look at other preacher’s stuff and learn from them.
  • Family: Mike and Beverly Miles were married on June 18, 1982. Mike and Beverly both came from preacher’s homes, although their denominations were drastically different. They have four children - April was married to Chad Geeslin and they are the youth pastors of the church. April is also a public school teacher. Michael Jr is married to Kayla and they serve in the children’s ministry at the church. Matthew is in the Navy. Mackenzie is an eigth grader in the Azle Christian School. The Miles have two grandchildren - Laney Marie and Zachary Dayne.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My dad was my mentor in the ministry. He has served along side of me for a total of 20 years. He now has parkinson’s disease and has become my prayer warrior. My mom and dad have been members here since we came here in 1996. They are my biggest supporters.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is my best critic, sometimes to critical, but always right on.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be yourself, let God be your best friend and have fun.
  • Hobbies: Any and all sports, literally! Bluegrass music and VW bugs.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: One time I was preaching and I got a little excited and jumped off the pulpit onto the floor of the auditorium that was about four feet off the ground. There was a man sitting on the second row who was half a sleep and chewing tabacco. When I hit the ground it scared him and he swallowed his chew. His face quickly indicated a problem and he literally ran out of the building.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He Loved His Lord and His Family with All He Had.
