Education: Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Pastoral Ministry and Bible
Comment to those looking at my sermons: I do not claim any honor or glory for myself. I hope my thoughts will minister to you and that you might use my material as a launching pad to your own excellent message.
One of my favorite illustrations: The Tale of the Tardy Oxcart, Chuck Swindoll
Family: Married 30 years to my loving wife Debbie, we have 5 children and 5 grandchildren.
What my parents think of my sermons: My mother thinks more highly of me than she should. My father has passed away
What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She probably wishes her pastor (husband) would go a little deeper sometimes
Best advice given to me about preaching: Your sermon should never last longer than your congregation's attention span
Books that have had an impact: Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders
If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Jesus loves you enough to die to make it possible that you might live with Him eternally
Something funny that happened while preaching: I was conducting a seminar entitled "The Nuts and Bolts of Teaching," but I mistakenly introduced it as "The Nuts and Butts of Teaching" and one of the attendees shouted back, "I didn't know we were having an anatomy lesson!"
What I want on my tombstone: Gone home for supper!
