Best advice given to me about preaching

"Lift up Jesus and love the people"

One of my favorite illustrations

Talking about evangelism: If you were in a big building and you discovered a fire, you wouldn't just leave without telling others about the fire. You'd holler and scream and beat on doors, alerting everyone to the eminent danger. At the very least, you'd pull the fire alarm. We need to be that way when sharing the Gospel. The building's on fire and most of us are quietly leaving without letting anyone else know.

Books that have had an impact

Through Gates of Splendor - Elizabeth Elliott

What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons

She loves me, anyway...

If I could Preach one more time, I would say...

Be ready, because Gabriel is wetting his lips....

What I want on my tombstone

Quit looking down; he ain't here.

Comment to those looking at my sermons

I only use an outline format for my sermons. Sometimes, you might recognize points that go with Scripture, but it is just the framework on which to hang the meat of the message. Please feel free to use these outlines to encourage the Bride of Christ!
