Sermon: PROSPERITY GOSPEL – DEALING WITH FALSE DOCTRINE

Powerful stuff, biblically based! Prosperity theology is of the Devil. It suggests that there are blessings from God available on the basis of works. It is a favourite tool of liberal theologists and the seeker-sensitive churches. It makes man after the flesh feel good. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not teach it, nor did His Apostles. It has no place in the Christian Gospel, the simple message of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The insistence on tithing is all part of this false teaching. If we give it is because we have received infinitely more than we could ever repay. We do not give anything to God or His people in the hope of a reward here on earth. Our reward will be to see Christ face to face.
