Comment to those looking at my sermons: I appreciate you taking the time to read them, and I pray they are a blessing to you. I am always looking for feedback and guidance, so please feel free as the Lord leads you. God is the author of it all, and I give credit where it is due. I am merely a student of His Word, so if these words can help you in your sermon preparation, please feel free to use them. God bless you!
Sermon or series that made a difference: The most impacting sermons to me are those preached by men who REFUSE to shy away from the truth of the Bible.
Family: Married to a spectacular and Godly woman and I'm the dad of three grown children.
What my parents think of my sermons: They have said they enjoyed them, and have downloaded several of them from the church website. If listening to my sermons because they want to hear me is a way to get the Gospel into their home, God is able to work in ALL things.
What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is my measuring stick ... if my delivery stunk, she lets me know. She is also my accountability partner. I cannot preach on something and not live it. I am blessed by the Lord to have such a Godly woman standing with me in the ministry.
Best advice given to me about preaching: "Preach because you love Jesus ... not because you love people." - Rev Jimmy L. Dillon, Jr.
Books that have had an impact: "Paul, a Man of Grace and Grit", "The Explicit Gospel", "Disciplines of a Godly Man", "My Heart’s Desire", "My Utmost for His Highest", "Secrets of the Secret Place", "90 Minutes in Heaven".
Hobbies: Camping, spending time on the lake, web programming, designing church web sites, and enjoying quiet family time at home.
If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: As long as you are alive, it is never too late to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Today, you have an opportunity that you are not guaranteed to have tomorrow, won’t you guarantee yourself a spot in Heaven?
Something funny that happened while preaching: Our platform at church is about 5 inches high and more times than I can count I have nearly fallen over from backing up to it while preaching. :-)
What I want on my tombstone: Faithful servant of Jesus Christ, devoted husband and daddy. Not perfect, but blessed.
