Church/Ministry Description

New Life Church is an indigenous, evangelical Charismatic church in India. It is part of the New Life Movement International established by Pastor S. Joseph in Mumbai. We are committed to preaching the gospel and planting churches. In addition we are attempting to meet the real needs of people through social action and disaster relief. In Delhi our vision is to establish a strong multi-congregational local church acting as a mission base for successive church planting all over North India. Along with my wife Esther, I pioneered the church here and am currently serving as the Senior Pastor and Overseer of New Life Church, National Capital Region of Delhi. My duties include pastoring our two Main Congregations and supervising our church-planting efforts.

Experience

1980 Saved through Campus ministries: Inter-Varsity, Campus Crusade for Christ, 1984 Called to leave USA to serve God in India 1984-86 Worked as a Hydrogeologist in Sultanate of Oman and lead a house church for expatriate Indians/ Sri Lankans / Pakistanis. 1986-1987 Ministered as one of the leaders of a congregation of NLF in Mumbai. 1987 Ordained along with my wife Esther into the ministry, set apart for the Lord’s service to the call of God to go to Delhi. 1987- present NLC, Delhi

Family

Esther and myself were married in December, 1986 in Mumbai. We both come from that city but have since 1987 made Delhi and now Gurgaon (a suburb) our home. Our three children: David, Daniel and Deborah were born in Delhi.

Best advice given to me about preaching

Quit before the people do. KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid.

What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons

She likes my sermons but knows when I haven’t prepared enough. She is always encouraging even when I don’ think I’ve done a good job.

What I want on my tombstone

For me to live is Christ, to die is gain!

My sermons are all in outline form. I like to put down only a minimum so that it prompts me to preach. Often my actual sermon is quite different from the outline as the Holy Spirit may lay emphasis on a portion. You will find the outlines useful for ideas to develop your own. They are easy to go through quickly and glean seed thoughts.
