One of the best sermons I have ever heard on Luke 4. Thank You for a powerful reminder to close the book.

I believe it is ok to quit your job etc... or "move on" if it is preventing you from using the gifts God has given you. Or if it does not allow you to be the best you can be for your family.

this is really a very good sermon. It blessed me, and I love the quote about only God can count the apples in a seed!

I know big dates for me mean little for other people, and that is OK. I remember Feb. 1, 1981 was my first Sunday as a pastor. I have made some stupid mistakes, I have lost sight of my goal a few times. But God has been good to me... 28 years of full time ministry, soon to be 6,000 sermons, I am honored to be a servant of the Holy God and His son, Jesus. Thank you David Matheny for the kind words, I have no email address to write you, but I say thank you. I knew some Matheny's in Middlesboro, KY. I love Rodney Burton and I have prayed for him many times. These young kid ministers have so much to offer. God bless them near His Heart. I thank God for this avenue, my hands are so little and I love to share with pastors and ministers. My gray hair has taught me: PRESS ON... IT IS ALWAYS TOO SOON TO QUIT. TRY AGAIN... MAYBE THIS TIME WE WILL SUCCEED. I WAS 8 1/2 YEARS IN THE MOUNTAINS AT A MISSION WORK and I have been here 19+ years, I want to GO HOME WITH MY BOOTS ON... Lift the torch high my friends, and meet me at Jesus feet.
