BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH The Reverend Dr. William Bryant Wilmore, Jr. has been described by many as “A 21st Century Preacher, with an old fashioned religion.” He has faithfully served as Senior Pastor of the exciting New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, in Belvedere, DE, for the past twenty years. His preaching experience spans more than thirty years. Pastor Wilmore’s explosive, anointed and illustrative preaching style has captivated congregations and has made him one of the most sought after preachers in the Mid-Atlantic region. His church’s weekly cable television ministry - “Show Me The Way” - reaches more than 150,000 homes in New Castle County, Delaware area. Rev. Wilmore is a gifted Gospel Music Musician, Playwright and Actor. In 2001, he accepted the role of Abolitionist Harry Craig in the made for television documentary, “Whispers of Angels,” starring Hollywood actors Blair Underwood and Ed Asner. He has also held principal roles in numerous theater productions including: August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson, as well as the stage production of Driving Miss Daisey and Jesus Christ Superstar.” He is the only African American in the history of the noted Wilmington Drama League to be voted “Actor of the Year.” Pastor Wilmore is also former President of the United Baptist Convention of Delaware, Inc. In addition, he is also the only African American Chaplain for the 970-member Delaware State Police Force and holds the rank of Captain. Reverend Wilmore is a former television and radio journalist and recipient of dozens of Associated Press Awards and two television Emmy nominations. His humble motto is: “If I can help somebody, as I pass along... than my living will not be in vain.”
