Human nature will never part with power. Look for an example of a voluntary relinquishment of power from one end of the globe to another you will find none.
POWER AND "KING OF THE HILL"
When I was a kid, we used to play a game called "King of the Hill." Everyone would get together and choose some place to be the "hill." Sometimes we were lucky enough to have a dirt mound to play on, but not very often. It might be a bed or a sofa, unless, of course, our parents got wise to what we were doing. It could be porch or some other elevated surface. Anyway, the higher the hill, the better.
And once we had the place, whatever it happened to be, someone would position himself on it, and he would be King of the Hill. The rest of us, of course, would do our best to push him or pull on him until we could get him off the hill. Then one of us would take his place...only to have the others try to take our place. As you can imagine, no one rem...
It is by its promise of a sense of power that evil often attracts the weak.
