I’ve always stood on God’s promise in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." A few years ago God showed me in one situation how he does indeed supply our needs providing we do put him first.
I was pastoring a church in Atlanta when I had received a call from the Birminham area. After much prayer and consideration we did accept their call. The church agreed to pay our moving expenses but there are always "unseen or unplanned expenses." Right after the move we were having it kind of rough financially speaking. One Monday morning I put on a sports coat and I was trying to stick a silk handkerchief in the front outside pocket, but something was inside the pocket already preventing me from sticking the hanky in. I reached into the pocket and found a check for $50.00. One of my members had placed it in my coat pocket from our church in Atlanta without me ever knowing it. God knew it, it had it in reserve for me untill I really needed it. God always provides a way,provding we put him first.
