In Spain in the 11th century, the following hymn, Adon Olam [Lord of the World], was sung in Jewish synagogues:

Lord of the world-he reigned alone

While yet the universe was naught,

When by his will all things were wrought,

Then first his sovereign Name was known.

And, when the all shall cease to be,

In dread lone splendor he shall reign.

He was, he is, he shall remain

In glorious eternity.

For he is one, no second shares

His nature or his loneliness.

Is that our God? Are we in the image of that God? No, we are in the image of a God of relationships--relationships between Father-Son-Holy Spirit, and relationships between God and human beings.

John 17:24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
