THE HARVEST IS RIPE

The Harvest is ripe -- Here's proof:

Wycliffe: Vision 2025
Translation projects started in every language on the planet by 2025.

Worldwide evangelism:
In "The Faith Equation," Dr. Marvin Bittinger, Professor of Mathematics at Purdue University and author of over 175 college math textbooks, claims that by 2033 every person on the planet capable of understanding the gospel will have been presented the gospel, according to modern evangelism trends.
34,000 converts each day in South America
28-37,000 Chinese converts daily
23-25,000 African converts daily
16,000 Muslims come to Christ daily - the following stories are all quoted.

"In December 2001, Sheikh Ahmad al Qataani, a leading Saudi cleric, appeared on a live interview on Aljazeera satellite television to confirm that, sure enough, Muslims were turning to Jesus in alarming numbers. "In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity," Al Qataani warned. "Every day, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity." Stunned, the interviewer interrupted the cleric. "Hold on! Let me clarify. Do we have six million converting from Islam to Christianity?" Al Qataani repeated his assertion. "Every year," the cleric confirmed, adding, "a tragedy has happened."

Stories from Muslim countries: Iraq -- thousands of new Christians since Saddam was overthrown, many new churches started, Egypt -- some reports say 1 million Egyptians have trusted Christ over the past decade or so. The Egyptian Bible Society used to sell about 3,000 copies of the JESUS film a year in the early 1990s. But last year they sold 600,000 copies, plus 750,000 copies of the Bible on tape (in Arabic) and about a half million copies of the Arabic New Testament. The largest Christian congregation in the Middle East, meets in an enormous cave on the outskirts of Cairo. Some 10,000 believers worship there every weekend. A prayer conference the church held in May 2005 drew some 20,000 believers, Afghanistan -- only 17 Muslim converts to Christianity before 9/11/01, but now more than 10,000, Kazakstan -- only 3 known Christians in 1990, but now more than 15,000, Sudan -- more than 1 million Sudanese have converted to Christianity just since 2000, and some 5 million have become Christians since the early 1990s, despite a radical Islamic regime and an on-going genocide that has killed more than 200,000.

Seminaries are being held in caves to train pastors to shepherd the huge numbers of people coming to Christ. Why such a dramatic spiritual awakening? "People have seen real Islam, and they want Jesus instead," one Sudanese evangelical leader said, Iran -- in 1979, there were only 500 known Muslim converts to Christianity, but today Iranian pastors and evangelical leaders say there are more than 1 million Iranian believers in Jesus Christ, most of whom meet in underground house churches. One of the most dramatic developments is that many Muslims are seeing dreams and visions of Jesus and thus coming into churches explaining that they have already converted and now need a Bible and guidance on how to follow Jesus."

Worldwide: 174,000 converts daily -- David B. Barret and Todd M. Johnson of the Global Evangelism Movement.

This is truly the most exciting time in all of history to be alive and a part of His Great Commission. The opportunity has never been more dramatic and the need has never been so huge:
All of history has built up to this point.
Global impact in your hometown.
Multiplication opportunities.
Transportation and communication impacts.
Globalization
English

Current end time events.
Israel, wars and other events.

The 4th qtr., bottom of the 9th, the end-game.

Numbers of the Bible”

One
The number one is for God. We must begin with number one or we cannot have number two or any other number. Mathematically speaking we cannot get anywhere without the number one. We must begin with God.

Two
The number two is for man. Man as an individual. God made man and Christ is “called the second man.”

Three
Three is the number for the Trinity. God is a triune God; Father, Son and Spirit. The atmosphere, which we live in, is a trinity of oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen. The tabernacle was a trinity with its court, holy place, and Holiest of Holies.
The first chapter of Revelation is full of trinities of Truth.
V. 2 – The Word of God, The testimony of Jesus, All things that He saw.
V. 3 – Read, Hear and Keep.
V. 4 – Which is, Which was, and Which is to come.
V. 5 – The Faithful Witness, The First begotten of the dead, The Prince of the kings of the earth.
V.5, 6 – Loved us, Washed us, Made us kings and priests.
V. 7 – Every eye shall see him, They also which pierced him, All kindreds of the earth.
V. 9 – Tribulation, Kingdom, Patience
V. 18 – I am He that liveth, Was dead, Alive for evermore.
V. 19 – Things seen (Past), Things which are (Present), Things which shall be (Future).
Who would dare to contradict the trinity as these Ten appear in one chapter alone, chapter one of Revelation. Certainly no Spirit filled believer or student of scripture would not affirm its validity.

Four
Four is the number of humanity as a whole. There were four men in the Ark, four men in the fiery furnace, four on the mount of Transfiguration. The four points of the compass comprise the whole of humanity in all the earth.

Five
Five is the number for grace – grace accepted or grace rejected. There are five wise and foolish virgins.
Six
The number six is the number for evil. A man with six toes and six fingers is called a wicked man in the Bible. Nebuchadnezzra’s image was sixty feet high and six feet in circumference and six musical instruments called the people to worship. The number for the Anti-Christ is six hundred sixty-six. This is set forth the trinity of evil, the climax of wickedness, and the culmination of iniquity. There can not be anything worse than 666.

Seven
Seven is the number for perfection. This number is frequently mentioned in scripture: seven churches, seven stars, seven heads, seven horns, seven eyes, seven Spirits of god, the seven branches of the candlestick.
In Judges, the seventh book of the Bible, there are seven departures from God; seven times the people repented and seven times Jehovah delivered his people from their enemies.

Eight
Eight is the number for that which is New. There are eight beatitudes which set forth something entirely new. Everything good in this sinful world owes its presence and existence to the Word of God. The resurrection of Christ and of many of the saints took place on the eighth day. Here indeed and in truth was something new.

Ten
Ten is the number of completeness. Jacob’s wages were changed ten times, which sets forth complete disappointment outside the will of God and his Promised Land. Eliezer, the servant, took ten camels with him when he started from home in order to obtain a bride for Isaac. God gave his people Ten Commandments. Daniel and his three friends were proved ten days and at the end of the test were ten times better than the others. Christ gave the parable of the ten pounds and ten talents. Christ healed ten lepers. The dragon of Daniel and Revelation had ten horns, which represent ten kings. The tenth or the tithe is the Lord’s.

Just out in this past Thursday’s USATODAY website (May 30,2002) – “Americans are increasingly pessimistic about the war against terrorism following weeks of revelations about missed clues and warnings of likely future attacks. Only four in 10 Americans believe the United States and its allies are winning the war against terrorism, according to a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup poll. In January, when headlines focused on military successes on the battlefield in Afghanistan, two-thirds of those polled felt the nation was winning the war. The number has declined steadily since. Now, 35% say neither side is winning the war, and 15% say the terrorists are winning.” Wave after wave of reports of new terrorist threats, perhaps biological terrorism, nuclear arms at the hands of terrorist, and terrorist attack alerts/warnings I believe is wearing down on the nerves of the people.

I believe in the same way many Christians today too are sensing that they are not winning the battle against the enemy of our souls. Just like the Al Qeada terrorists, the devil’s demons appears hard to root out, and when they do strike, many Christians fall or fall far away from God’s purposes, just as we hear soldiers die or mistakes happen such as the “friendly fire” incident that caused Canadian lives. As a result, there is a sense of pessimism among many defeated Christians. Defeated perhaps by cares of this world, defeated by pressures that seem out of control, defeated by … If Jesus is victorious, as many claim, where then is that victory? Where then is the joy?

A TIME FOR TESTIMONY

What if we had each person that witnessed the resurrected Lord come up here this morning and talk for 15 minutes giving a testimony to what they saw.

If we listened to the testimony of all the people that Jesus appeared to, we would be here all day, and all night, and Monday and Monday night and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and sometime early Friday morning they would just be wrapping up the tes...

Why did the Magi come?
They were looking for “Messiah the Prince” of Daniel’s
prophecy
An examination of Daniel’s prophecy shows why
they expected Jesus at this time

Daniel 9:24-26 - “Seventy weeks are determined
upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the
transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to
make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in
everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision
and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know
therefore and understand, that from the going forth
of the commandment to restore and to build
Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be
seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the
street shall be built again, and the wall, even in
troublous times. And after threescore and two
weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:
and the people of the prince that shall come shall
destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end
thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of
the war desolations are determined.”

It would be 69 “weeks” from King Cyrus’ decree to send a remnant back to Jerusalem under Ezra & Nehemiah to
restore the city & the temple until the saviour came.

Prophetically - 1 week = 7 years
69x7=483 years

The wise men kept track from generation to generation
for 483 years and knew the time was at hand for
Daniel’s prophecy to be fulfilled & now came
seeking.

They did not follow star - simply saw star in the east
Appeared to signal them to start
already knew seeking King of the Jews
naturally went to Jewish capital
Only when came to Bethlehem did star
lead & stop over where Jesus was

Our text from Romans assures us that the Holy Scriptures bring us encouragement and hope. All our hymns we are singing today affirm the encouragement and hope we receive by being “People of One Book.” I read the daily devotional for March 14 in Kenneth W. Osbeck’s devotional guide AMAZING GRACE: 366 INSPIRING HYMN STORIES FOR DAILY DEVOTIONS, as that devotional centered on our opening hymn “Standing on the Promises.” The Bible contains more than 5,000 promises for God’s people [SOURCE: http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Basics/gods_promises.htm]. In his devotional on “Standing on the Promises” Kenneth Osbeck says, “Bible scholars have pointed out that the phrase ‘fear not’ appears in the Bible 365 times—a reassuring promise for each day of the year.’” [SOURCE: Kenneth W. Osbeck, Amazing Grace: 366 Inspiring Hymn Stories for Daily Devotions (Grand Rapids: Kregel Publications, 1990), 85.].

All men commanded to appear 3 times a year there, but the Rabbis found a way to reinterpret this; at the time of Jesus, a man was considered especially devout if he went once a year, and some went once in a lifetime or every 4 or 5 years! (see "Pilgrimage at the Time of Jesus" by Shmuel Safrai, Jerusalme Perspective, January 1, 2004).

But as God’s living temples, in the New Testament, we offer sacrifices as part of our daily routine!

We know that Jesus rose from the dead. The resurrection is a historical event, not a myth or story. We know this from the empty tomb and the people who saw Christ physically alive. First, the women, and then the apostles, and then over five hundred people saw Christ alive after he rose from the dead. Jesus is the only man in history to rise from the dead. No other great religious teachers ever rose from the dead. In nineteen hundred B.C. the Jews father Abraham died. In four hundred and eighty three B.C. the Buddhists say Buddha died. In six hundred and thirty two A.D. Mohammed died. In thirty three A.D. Jesus died but came back to life appearing to over five hundred people in forty days. So whom can we trust? Only Jesus!

Barna Update: Born Again Christians Just As Likely to Divorce As Are Non-Christians
9/8/2004 A bi-weekly e-mail from George Barna
Did you know that people’s religious faith appears to have no impact on whether or not a married person gets divorced? In a study we began earlier this year and just completed, we tracked a person’s faith commitment, the age at which those who were born again accepted Christ as their savior, and the age at which those who got married eventually dissolved that marriage.
Were is the difference that Jesus talked about and Peter preached about?
Born Again Beliefs – according to Barna
• Compared to 60% of all adults, 84% of born again Christians believe “the Bible is totally accurate in all of its teachings.” (2004)
o What happened to the other 16%
• 78% of born again Christians believe they “personally have a responsibility to tell other people their religious beliefs” compared to 52% of all adults. (2004)
o What about the 22%?
• Nearly all born again Christians (98%) say their religious faith is very important in their life, compared to 52% of all adults. (2004)
o Why would 2% who claim to be Born Again say “It’s not important?”
• Half of born again Christians (50%) agree that Satan is “not a living being but is a symbol of evil.” (2004)
o %0% of the Christians church does not know what the Bible says or rejects what it says- were is the difference?
• About one-third of born agains (38%) believe that if a person is good enough they can earn a place in Heaven. (2004)
o Once again contrary to Scriptures teaching yet 38% believe this false notion.
• 31% of born agains agree that “while he lived on earth, Jesus committed sins, like other people,” compared to 44% of all adults. (2004)
o This one blows my mind – 31% just ruled out Jesus as being the sinless Savior of mankind.
• 15% of born again Christians claim that “after He was crucified and died, Jesus Christ did not return to life physically.” (2000)
• About one out of four (26%) born again Christians believe that it doesn’t matter what faith you follow because they all teach the same lessons; a belief held by 56% of non-Christians. (2000)
• Born again Christians are more likely than non-born again individuals to accept moral absolutes. Specifically, 32% of born agains said they believe in moral absolutes, compared to just half as many (15%) among non-born agains.
