A Gallop poll in 1995 found that only 24% of British people believe in hell as an objective reality whereas around 50% believe in heaven.
Did you know that every year 3,000 lives are killed and injured as a result of drunk driving in the United Kingdom and this heightens around Christmas time. So the government along with the DVLA run drink-driving campaigns on TV. Where they show real life car accidents as a result of drinking and driving they are shocking! But there not shown to spoil our Christmas ( they give us a choice) but to warn us of the consequences of drinking and driving thisd is reality. As Christians should’nt we be warning people of the consequences of ignoring Christ’s love. Should’nt we be sharing the truth giving people the choice?
Like wise when Jesus tells us about hell with the rich man and Lazarus its not told to spoil our time here upon earth but to warn us of the consequences of ignoring him as Savior and Lord. This story actually shows the reality of his love towards us

What is Hell?
Translation:
A survey by the Barna Group unveiled Americans' beliefs about hell.
• 39% percent believe that hell is a state of eternal separation from God's presence.
• 32% percent said it was a place of torment and real suffering, containing the souls of people after death.
• 13% percent believe that hell is just the symbol of some unknown bad outcome after death.
• 16% percent are not sure of the existence of hell, or said they did not believe in life beyond death.
What we see through these statistics is that most people believe in a place called hell, but their ideas are far from unanimous.
THE CONTRAST: CHRIST VERSUS ANTICHRIST
1. Christ came from above. Antichrist will ascend from the pit.
2. Christ came in His Father’s name. Antichrist will come in his own name.
3. Christ humbled Himself. Antichrist will exalt himself.
4. Christ was despised. Antichrist will be admired.
5. Christ will be exalted. Antichrist will be cast down to hell.
6. Christ came to do His Father’s will. Antichrist will do his own will.
7. Christ came to save. Antichrist will come to destroy.
8. Christ is the Good Shepherd. Antichrist is the evil shepherd.
9. Christ is the “true vine”. Antichrist is the “vine of the earth”.
10. Christ is the “truth”. Antichrist is the “lie”.
11. Christ is the “Holy One”. Antichrist is the “lawless one”.
12. Christ is the “man of sorrows”. Antich...
FEAR MOVES US
Fear is used by those with a platform to move us in the direction they desire. Fear sells (magazines, newspapers, TV ratings/ads...). Fear wins political contests. Fear is used by parents. And all too often fear is used by the church.

The Barna Research group gathers statistics on Christian America and reported the following information in 2002:
85% of Americans claim to be Christian
8 out of 10 people consider themselves to be Christian
It’s apparent that many do not really have a relationship with Christ
A majority of these do not agree with the teachings of the bible
Many do not believe in spiritual beings, or in hell
How many people who don’t agree with the bible are going to do what is expected of them?
Dr. B.J. Miller once said, “It is a great deal easier to do that which God gives us to do, no matter how hard it is, than to face the responsibilities of not doing it!”
Daniel Meyers speaks about a book written by a cardiologist at the University of Tennessee that corroborates an important aspect of the biblical message. In the course of their emergency room work, Dr. Maurice Rawlings and his colleagues interviewed more than 300 people who claimed near-death experiences. What made Rawlings’ study distinct is that the interviews were not conducted months or years later but immediately after the experiences had allegedly occurred—while the patients were still too shaken up in the immediacy of the moment to gloss over or to re-imagine what they had experienced.
Nearly 50 percent of them reported encountering images of fire, of tormented and tormenting creatures, and other sights hailing from a place very different from heaven. In follow-up interviews much later many of these same people had changed their stories, apparently unwilling to adm...
A while back I was in a class at the Golden Triangle Baptist Missions office. We had a Brother Atkins there that night. Bro. Atkins was at that time the head of evangelism over the state of MS. He came up from the Baptist building in Jackson to talk with us that night. He threw out some statistics to us that night. One stat. he threw out was quick to catch my attention.
Did you know that in the state of MS alone there are 1,180,000 known, confessed lost people. That means that out of the next 100 people you come in contact with 50 of them are going to Hell. If you go over to Wal-Mart and pick out 10 people 5 of them will be lost and on their way to Hell.
Percentage of Americans who believe that religion can answer all or most of today’s problems: 67
Percentage who believe religion is largely old-fashioned and out of date: 20
Percentage who agree with the statement "There will be a day when God judges whether you go to heaven or hell": 79
