Editorial Influence The ability of newspaper Web sites to measure which stories are drawing the most readers could change the way coverage decisions are made by newspapers. TV-like ratings are coming to print as papers harness technology that shows which stories attract readers and which don’t. The ability to track interest may point the way for newspapers to engage Digital Age readers, or as some fear, it could fuel a rush to tabloid journalism. (American Journalism Review 6-7/06)
