Because we do not know who we are, we don’t know how to live. God desires that we know the incomprehensible truth that we are His family and to learn how we can act like it.

How do we know we are children of God? By the testimony of the Spirit of God. The paternity test for being a child of God is evidenced by the Spirit of God within us.

If the devil can convince you that your core identity is a sinner then you will live and act like it for the rest of your life. He knows that your actions arise from your identity, so he will try to convince you that your identity arises from your action

In the New Testament, the Church is not spoken of as a wife, but as a bride, betrothed or engaged, being made ready for her wedding day, the celebrated and much anticipated day when Christ comes for His church at the end of the age.

The idea of marriage was not first the relationship between a man and a woman, but first between God and His people.In other words, human marriage is created in the image of God’s love for us and not the other way around.

God designed His church to be a family. Not just to act like a family, but to literally be a family.

"Be united in spirit” is used to describe souls that beat together, in tune with Christ and with each other. This word is made up of two words "sun" (together with) and psuchos (soul, self, inner life, or the seat of the feelings, desires,affections). So

Jesus is so much more. He is not a “copy” of God, and he is not a facsimile of God, Jesus is the exact visible image of the invisible God. And as such, He is the author of our family...the family of God.
