TIME FOR A HEART CHECK UP

How is your heart today when it comes to God?

1. Is your heart DECEITFUL ?

The Lord says it is by nature.

Jer. 17:9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?


2. Do you have a DOUBLE heart.

The Lord says it is because of HYPOCRISY.

Psalms 12:2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

3. Is your heart DECEIVED?

The Lord says we are deceived through IGNORANCE.

Isaiah 44:20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

4. Is your heart HARDENED?

The Lord says through UNBELIEF.

Mark 8:17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?


God wants us to have a heart that pleases him.

1. He wants us to have and HONEST heart.

To receive his word.

Luke 8:15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

2. He wants us to have and OPEN heart.

That yields to Gods Hand.
Acts 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

3. He wants us to have a BELIEVING heart.

A believing heart welcomes Gods righteousness.

Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

4. He wants us to have a GLAD heart.

A glad heart rejoices in Salvation.

Psalms 4:7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
