Greetings!
This collection of Offering Devotions arose out of my desire to find a book dedicated to short, punchy, Scriptural and motivational devotions that can be used during the ‘offering segment’ of Sunday church services and given to any leader of the service to use immediately, without any need of preparation or study on their behalf.
Unable to find such a booklet, I set about to collect, adapted and rewrite over 60 Biblical devotions on the topic of Tithing, Giving and Money – more than one devotion for each week of the year, most of them directly from the NIV Life Application Study Bible. All of them have Power Point slides with Scriptures and main points. Many have graphics as well. All the slides, as well as the devotions, are on the CD.
My prayer is that the effort taken in producing this booklet will be multiplied as you, your service leaders and congregation are encouraged each week to:
…bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it!” (Malachi 3:10)
I usually Email each devotion to an Elder who is leading the service, and also have it photocopied when they arrive at church on Sunday. I also include the following paragraph for them to introduce the devotion:
‘As we come to give to the Lord of our tithes and offerings, let’s open the Bible and learn from God’s Spirit on the topic of …..’
We also have another copy of the devotion on the sound desk – for the data projectionist to use as they change the slides during the devotion.
