8 Great Rules to live by
Proverbs 3:1-3

They deal with:
1. Things to make us look better and live longer.
2. Things to make us have more.
3. Things that will help us to
get along with everyone.- Longevity, Prosperity and Peace.

Then He gives very specific details of

8 keys for a long life, prosperity and peace

1. LET LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS NEVER LEAVE YOU V 3-4
Love and Faithfulness
It’s not true love– W/O faithfulness

Definition of Love - Meeting needs
Definition of Faithfulness: keeping faith; maintaining allegiance; constant; loyal

2. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART. V 5-6
Living by faith is the hardest thing to live by—

My faith gets weak in times of trials– troubles

3. DO NOT BE WISE IN YOUR OWN EYES V 7-8
Ever meet those people—
YOU KNOW NOTHING— THEY KNOW ALL

2 Corinthians 10:12----For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

4. HONOR THE LORD WITH YOUR WEALTH V 9-10

This starts with tithing - God’s Law of harvest.
1. Giving is the evidence of the seedtime and harvest
Without sacrifice, CAN YOU HAVE FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD

TURN___Malachi 3:8-10

A tithe is what Abraham brought to MELCHEZIDEK—
HIGH PRIEST

I don’t think it’s mandated—
HEAR PEOPLE TEACH AGAINST IT

If tithes to the high priest is USELESS----
What does that say for our high priest

When you preach anti giving, anti tithing, —
Preaching Anti High Priest----Preaching Anti Christ

5. DO NOT DESPISE THE LORD’S DISCIPLINE V 11-12
Only a fool despises chastisement
Discipline --Evidence of love
Hebrews 12:6 “Whom the LORD loves he chastens and scourges every son whom He receives.”

GIVES US SPANKINGS—
You can know when you do something wrong, that God never leaves you.

If God dropped you when you sinned---
There would be no discipline---
You’re a new believer

God never leaves you-- You can now that!! How?
When you goof up-- He disciplines you-- like a child

6. SEARCH DILIGENTLY FOR WISDOM AND FIND IT V 13-24
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

I want to be constantly looking for God’s wisdom
When we do something out of the box– Contoversial— God’s wisdom– he did it

7. HAVE NO FEAR V 25-26

I tend to be afraid of a lot of things
SHELTERED A LOT AS CHILD— I didn’t leave the state of Texas till I was 16,

Wasn’t on a plane till 18 ,

God said, “quit being a coward ”

8. DON’T WITHHOLD GOOD FROM THOSE WHO DESERVE IT V 27-28

Matthew 5: 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[b] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

WE should always go the extra mile— Christ ask us to.
Love those love you— LOVE YOUR ENEMY
