Summary: Looking past All the Powerful, so called Important people, to see the one who really matters, Christ.

A Greater than Solomon is Here

Matthew 12: 38-42

Introduction:

A Little history on Solomon:

He was the son of David

Accession to the throne --- Anointed king before his father’s death

His wisdom was a special gift from God.

His fame spread abroad over the world.

He was great is Wisdom

He was great among Women

He was honored by a visit by the Queen of Sheba

As he increase in wealth and honor his love of display grew upon him, and he maintained a most luxurious and extravagant establishment beyond what the resources of his people would warrant.

Lets see if we can find someone in the Word of God that is greater and has a greater character then he had.

The Bible calls this person the following:

True Vine Truth Word of God

I wish that someone would have penned down a few words for the rest of us to have the ability to identify who this is.

We all know that there is only one person with the ability to have all these character traits, and that is the person Jesus Christ, the only Begotten of the Father.

1. YOU WILL NOT FIND A GREATER DELIEVER

I Corinthians 1:10 says…

10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

Jesus has the ability to HAVE Delivered us, to yet DO Deliver us, and who will YET Deliver us.

In the PAST -- PREASENT -- FUTURE, his will deliver.

Galatians 1:3-5 says…

3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

He Delivered the Hebrew Children form the Fiery Furnace

He Delivered Daniel from the Den of Lions.

He Delivered David from the Paw of a Lion, from the Paw of a Bear, and from the great Philistine.

He Delivered Lot and his family from Sodom and Gomorrah.

He Delivered Paul and Silas from Prison.

He (God) and he alone is able to Deliver.

The Enemy come in like a flood and god raises up a standard to deliver.

2. YOU WILL NOT FIND A GREATER GRACE

A. Grace is freely Given

Psalms 84:11-12 says…

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

B. Grace Empowers men for Service

I Corinthians 15:10 says…

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

C. Is Promised to the Humble

I Peter 5:5-6 says…

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

D. Grace Justifies

Romans 3:24 says…

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 5:15 says…

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
